Full Time Tart is a bespoke cake studio tucked away in the valleys of beautiful Banks Peninsula, crafting delicious cakes that celebrate the abundance of local produce and seasonal ingredients.

Established in 2020, Full Time Tart has quickly found it's place among the Canterbury wedding industry. With tasteful designs and exceptional flavours, your cake will be one to remember.

Every cake is made to order in our registered kitchen, giving you peace of mind in knowing our practices are compliant with current food safety regulations.

Please note that the sizes listed are based on a cake that consists of 4 layers of cake inside of each tier. If you visually prefer a cake with shorter proportions, it is best to just look at the portions-price as your guide.

Additional costs include design work, florals and delivery.

If the cake is being served as your main dessert, dessert portions are recommended, however if you have other sweet treats in your menu, coffee portions may be more suitable. Please note, serving suggestions above are only indications. Every catering team does this slightly differently so please advise your caterers if you need to ensure a specific number of portions are cut from the cake.

FAQ’s

Can we taste the cake before we place an order?

Absolutely! Cake tasting boxes are the best way to do this. Minis are also available at Six Ounces Cafe.

We can't decide on a flavour. What should we do?

You're welcome to choose different flavours on each tier, however some flavours are more suited to being on the top or the bottom. This is something I can assist you with once you have decided which flavours to go for. All of these cakes can be made into mini, cupcake size cakes too. This is a wonderful option if you simply can't decide and want a selection of flavours. It is also a great way to cater for your guests with dietary needs.

Can we pick up our wedding cake?

I do not offer pick up on tiered cakes as the cakes require a lot of care and a sufficient cooling system when transporting. Delivery is based on $1.5/km return from our kitchen in Prices Valley to wedding venues outside of a 50km distance from our kitchen. Within 50km the delivery charge and set up fee is $50.00

Can we have fondant or Royal Icing?

Unfortunately not. All of my non vegan cakes are made with a delicious white Chocolate Buttercream.

Can you organise a cake topper for us?

If you wish to have a custom cake topper, please communicate this early to allow time for our suppliers to work their magic. Custom toppers start at $60.00 If you wish to order your own, please consult with me so that I can work this into your overall design.

Can you quote a cake for our 2024/25 Wedding?

Due to inflation rates, I can not yet provide quotes for the 2024/25 season. These will be released after the 23/24 season has finished.

Can our florist do the flowers on our cake?

I like to have full control over the final design and placement of the flowers on the cake so do not allow the florist to do the flowers. Your florist can of course supply the flowers so they all tie in on the day.

Our plans have changed, can I get a refund on my deposit?

Deposits are non refundable. There are limited bookings I can take for any given weekend so by paying a deposit I have set aside that day to work with you. This often means I and am turning away other couples. One exception is if you can inform me 6 months out, then 50% of your deposit can be refunded. This allows time for me to rebook the date with another couple.

Do you make allergy friendly cakes?

I do! Some of the Cakes are available in GF/DF and Vegan, however I can not guarantee that it doesn't contain traces of these allergens as we work from a studio that handles large amounts of all of these. Please refer to the menu for a list of what is possible.

Can we visit the Full Time Tart kitchen?

We are a licensed kitchen registered by the Christchurch City Council, however, Full Time Tart is based out of my family home, for this reason I do not offer pick ups or consultations here. I am more than happy to come to you or meet at one of the many fabulous cafes around Christchurch to discuss all things cake.
